Sales conditions for all sites and training products created by Frank D. Alvarez and/or The Good Conversationalist.

Article 1: Application

The present terms & conditions apply to all transactions made by any internet site that belongs to Frank D. Alvarez and/or The Good Conversationalist, including thegoodconversationalist.com.

Any person or company who makes a payment via our sales platform online pays by check, bank transfer, or cash is considered a client.

The only version of this document that is legally binding is the version available on this present page.

Article 1.2: Age limitation

Age limitations apply

Frank D. Alvarez does not accept clients younger than 18 years of age.

We do our best to restrict the access of minors to our sites, products, and services. Even if the content of our products and services is not shocking or explicit in nature, we prefer to address a mature audience.

Article 2: Purchases

All purchases made by a site that belongs to Frank D. Alvarez imply acceptance of the present terms and conditions.

Article 3: Price

Prices are indicated in Dollars, tax included.

When a price conversion is indicated, it reflects approximately the conversation rate as indicated by the site xe.com at the date of the creation of the price list.

We take care to update our price lists each time we open registration for any online products.

Prices can be modified at any moment. Prices listed on our sites will be the prices applied when you pay.

Prices stated on quotes are valid for 30 days from the day the quote is issued.

Article 4: Payments & Payment Plans

Unless specifically stated otherwise, payment is immediate, at the date of purchase. This includes pre-orders for products or services that will be released in the future. You can make payments directly via our site, which is protected for secure online payments.

Online payments are managed by Squarespace and/or Stripe. All guarantees regarding the security of these systems are entirely the responsibility of these sites and your bank and do not concern us.

When you join a program with a monthly payment plan or an hourly package, you commit to paying the full number of payments indicated on the payment page of the program in advance.

I am not responsible for your discontinued use of an online course. For example, if you join a program by purchasing 20 1-hour sessions, but discontinue using the course after 10 sessions, you are still entitled to complete the total number of paid sessions within a period of 6 months. I will honor this commitment.

Article 5: Return and Reimbursement Conditions

In accordance with European law, you have 7 days from your purchase date to ask for reimbursement accompanied with a reasonable justification for the request.

For online courses, I also offer an extended guarantee, which is generally 30 days from the date you buy your course. Guarantees are clearly indicated on the course sales page. After the guarantee period of 30 days, no reimbursements are given, as you have had sufficient time to evaluate the course and decide if it is right for you.

In the case of a refund, the full sum might take from one to several weeks to be returned. This is due to the way the payment processing platform (Stripe) works. It will be submitted to the system as soon as a brief dissatisfaction explanation is received from the client.

Article 6: Protection of personal information

In accordance with European law on data liberties, you have the right to access and correct any data that we have about you.

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) enacted on 25 May 2018, we have put in place a GDPR-compliant Privacy Policy. The full details are on our Privacy Policy page. 

By adhering to these terms and conditions, you understand and accept our policy on data protection and agree to us collect and use this data.

We use cookies on all our sites.

We track traffic on our sites. For this, we use tools such as, but not limited to, Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, and other tracking tools. This non-personal data allows us to improve your experience and personalize our sites according to frequent user use.

Article 7: Applicable law

All clauses in the present terms and conditions, including all purchases, is covered under Slovenian law.

Article 8: Affiliation and Recommendations

In our newsletters, communications, and training programs, we may recommend other tools, websites, products, or services that could be useful for you in learning English.

When this is the case, we are generally partners with the companies selling these tools, products, or services, and we get a commission for recommending their products.

When this is not the case, we make this information clear.

Article 9: Coaching and consultation services

Unless otherwise agreed by the client and Frank D Alvarez, full payment will be required before any coaching or consultation begins.

Reimbursements of single sessions

When you reserve a consultation, coaching, or another session with me, I make a commitment to be available to serve you. This directly influences the number of clients I can serve. For this reason, I cannot offer reimbursement for any sessions that you reserved but failed to attend, and these will be deducted from the number of sessions in your package.

Expiration dates
All fixed packages have an expiration date to ensure that your sessions are booked regularly and that you meet your objectives by working regularly on your Social Communication and English skills.

If no expiration date is indicated on your quote, the deadline to use your sessions is fixed at 6 months from the date of the agreement. You are responsible for ensuring that you book your sessions regularly.

Subscription packages are excluded from this policy, as your sessions are valid for one calendar month corresponding to the subscription fees for that month.

Cancellation policy

If you reserved a session with me and must cancel, please do it at least 24 hours before the time of your session. After this time, the session will be billed and no reimbursement will be given.

If you cancel on time, the session will not be considered billed, and we will re-book your session.

Please be on time.

My time is precious, just like yours. If you are late for our appointment, you lose this time. We will finish at the time originally scheduled. If you are absent from the session, it will be considered as billed.

On my side, I make a commitment to be on time for our sessions, too.
